Software Engineer – AAAK Transport

Location : Lansdowne, NSW 2163

Employment Type : Full-Time

Salary : AUD $85,000 – $95,000 per annum (commensurate with experience)

As part of our digital transformation, we are investing in smart systems and custom-built software tools to optimise our fleet management, dispatch operations, and data analytics.

Role Overview :

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer to support the design, development, and maintenance of internal tools and applications. The successful candidate will work on solutions that enhance operational efficiency, improve communication, and streamline key transport workflows.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions aligned with business requirements
  • Build and maintain internal applications for logistics tracking, dispatch management, and reporting
  • Integrate third-party APIs and cloud-based platforms to enhance system functionality
  • Analyse user needs and suggest technical improvements or automation opportunities
  • Collaborate with transport staff to refine system features and usability
  • Maintain system security, data integrity, and documentation
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues as they arise
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to overall software development best practices

Required Skills and Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field
  • At least 3 years of experience in full-stack software development
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages (e.g. Python, JavaScript, C#, or Java)
  • Experience with database systems (SQL / NoSQL) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with REST APIs, version control (Git), and CI / CD workflows
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing deadlines and support operational teams

    • Desirable :

  • Previous experience developing software for logistics or transport industries
  • Exposure to GPS / telematics system integration
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and data privacy regulations
