Salary : Teacher, $85,610 - $124,016 per annum (pro-rata) (SEA GA 2023)

Halls Head Primary School (PS) is seeking to establish a pool of enthusiastic Kindergarten to Year 6 (K-6) Teachers for appointments to permanent, fixed term, full‑time and part‑time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

Halls Head PS is an Independent Public School, located in the area between the Peel Estuary and the ocean south to the Dawesville Cut. Our School Business Plan mandates the direction of our school. We are seeking enthusiastic teachers who should have a desire to inspire and engage students in innovative teaching and learning experiences, to collaborate and productively work with others in teams to improve student outcomes. We are looking for teachers who are ideally student‑focused, differentiate their teaching, embrace differences and should have a strong capacity to engage and inspire students and colleagues.

Suitable applicants should be highly motivated educators with the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students in the context of our school and the School Business Plan. Our shared Journey to Excellence in Teaching initiative, (JET), leads our emphasis on high quality teaching and embedded in our teaching practice across the school. Suitable applicants should have a strong knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to deliver content in an engaging manner. A capacity to contribute to leading others and building a culture of high trust and collaboration will be an advantage.

We seek team players who are ideally committed to whole school approaches, data collection, effective use of data, collaborating in a team culture with learning teams and participate in coaching through Peer Observations working with an instructional coach. They should apply appropriate classroom management strategies in their teaching, have flexibility and are committed to building their professional capacity through continual learning. Suitable applicants should have an understanding of the Halls Head PS context and outstanding interpersonal skills, ideally with an ability to build effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Suitable applicants who are proficient in the use of information technology in the classroom and who are able to effectively differentiate classroom practices to cater for all learning styles, will be well regarded. They will ideally be committed to whole school approaches, and ideally have strong professional knowledge and application of programs; for example, CMS, Zones of Regulation, Dianna Rigg, DIBELS, implementation of daily reviews, reading fluency and spelling mastery would be desirable.

Halls Head PS has an emphasis on high quality teaching and best practice mandated whole school teaching approaches. In order for staff to effectively work at our school, you will ideally have an awareness of how to measure the impact of your teaching on students’ progress and achievement and how you can develop student learners through the use of clear learning intentions and success criteria. Suitable applicants should value collaborative planning in teams, both specific year level and broader school teams, to develop consistent, quality learning programs, and participate in rigorous analysis of student data. They should continually monitor the impact of your teaching on student learning and be willing to try new, innovative ways to engage students. Our learning program has a strong focus on literacy and numeracy whole school programs and teaching strategies with special programs in Science, Physical Education, Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Indonesian.

  • consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

Vacancies may arise during the life of this pool that require specialist qualifications (for example vacancies within Early Childhood Education). Only applicants, in the pool, possessing the required qualifications will be considered for appointment in these circumstances.
