HammondCare is an independent Christian charity specialising in dementia care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, specialist mental health for older people and other health and aged services.

Volunteer opportunities are available across NSW, ACT, SA and Victoria. If you don't see an opportunity in your area, please call or email.

Job Description

Spread Joy by joining our Volunteer Team!

The HammondCare Volunteer program is a great way for you to make a meaningful difference to the life of an older person, right here in Hunter.

As a Volunteer Social Visitor, you will provide companionship and meaningful social interaction for older people living in a residential care home. Spend time engaging with residents one-on-one or in small groups.

As a HammondCare Golden Cup Café Club Volunteer, you'll be helping residents enjoy meeting others and socialising at our onsite engagement space 'The Hub'. Fortnightly visits will see you inviting residents to the café club, starting conversations, taking drink requests, serving some treats for afternoon tea, maybe even starting a sing-along, to name a few. Come along and prepare for a variety of engagement as you volunteer your time at HammondCare Cardiff.

Your Impact

Volunteering as a social visitor can be a rewarding experience, both for the person you visit as well as yourself. Regular visits from volunteers can help to improve quality of life and help people feel less isolated.
