About the Role

Smith & Co is recruiting on behalf of several well-established Australian manufacturers known for designing and building premium equipment for businesses across Australia and overseas. You'll play a key role in assembling high-quality, custom-built machinery from detailed engineering drawings. Working in a modern workshop, you'll be involved in every stage of the build process, ensuring equipment is assembled to the highest standards before installation and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom machinery and perform maintenance work
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly plans
  • Install, align and fit mechanical components and assemblies
  • Carry out mechanical adjustments, testing and quality checks
  • Work closely with engineers and the production team to deliver completed projects

What You'll Bring

  • Trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter
  • Previous experience in machinery assembly or manufacturing
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and technical documentation
  • High attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Strong communication skills and a proactive team-first attitude

Desirable Experience

  • OEM or workshop assembly experience
  • Conveyor systems or processing equipment
  • Hydraulics and pneumatics
  • Stainless steel machinery or food manufacturing equipment

Salary & Benefits

  • $55 per hour casual
