We're looking for an Assistant Specialist Manager to join our Pumps & Water Management team. Working alongside the Specialist Manager, you'll help lead the day-to-day operation of the business, support and guide the team, work directly with customers and help grow our Pumps & Water Management offering.

This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in pumps, water management, specialist hire or a related industry who is ready to take the next step into leadership.

What you'll be doing

You'll be hands-on across the operation, combining customer service, equipment expertise and team leadership. You'll:

• Support the Specialist Manager with the day-to-day running of the business
• Supervise, delegate and coordinate daily activities across the team
• Work with customers to understand their requirements and recommend appropriate pump and water management solutions
• Build strong customer relationships and help identify opportunities to grow the specialist business
• Work closely with Business Development and the wider Kennards network to provide complete hire solutions
• Coordinate with Transport to ensure equipment is delivered and collected on time
• Work with the Workshop to ensure equipment is maintained, ready for hire and available when customers need it
• Support effective utilisation and movement of specialist equipment across the network
• Maintain high standards across customer service, administration, safety and operational processes
• Coach and support team members to deliver consistently high standards.

About you
We're looking for someone who brings strong operational and customer skills along with knowledge of pumps, water management or relevant specialist equipment.

You'll ideally have:

• Experience working with pumps, water management or similar specialist equipment
• Strong customer service and relationship management skills
• The ability to understand customer requirements and recommend practical solutions
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience, or the readiness to take that next step
• Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to adapt when priorities change
• Confidence solving problems and resolving customer issues
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork.
