FLEXIBLE LOCATION: SYDNEY OR MELBOURNE

Are you an experienced Licensed Customs Broker looking to join a stable, well-structured organisation where your technical expertise and compliance knowledge are genuinely valued?

Our client is a respected international freight forwarder experiencing continued growth. With a strong reputation for operational excellence and customer service, they are seeking an experienced Customs Broker to join their established team.

The Role
As a Licensed Customs Broker, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and compliant clearance of import and export shipments while providing high-level service to clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and lodge import/export declarations via EDI
  • Apply accurate tariff classifications and determine customs value and origin
  • Assess Free Trade Agreement (FTA) eligibility and applicable concessions
  • Calculate duties, GST, and applicable charges
  • Liaise with Australian Border Force (ABF), freight forwarders, shipping lines, and biosecurity authorities
  • Maintain, complete and audit-ready documentation
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to clients

About You

  • Licensed Australian Customs Broker
  • Proven experience within a freight forwarding or customs brokerage environment
  • Strong knowledge of Australian customs legislation and compliance requirements
  • Experience using EDI systems and CargoWise (highly regarded)
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team
