The opportunity
You will be working as a locum Emergency Medicine Principal House Officer and assist the Director, Staff Specialists and Senior Medical Staff in ensuring the ED services provided by the Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service are of the highest standard and delivered in an efficient and effective manner given available resources.
This 70-bed hospital offers a range of general and specialist inpatient and outpatient services. There is a 29-bed mixed General Surgical and Medical Ward and a four-bed High Dependency Unit where patients may be held pending retrieval, or for close observation not possible on the wards. Additional beds are available for paediatrics. The hospital has a busy surgical outpatient clinic reviewing a wide variety of surgical conditions.
The location
This stunning location is just a stones' throw from the Southern Great Barrier Reef. Nestled between several islands including Heron Island, Lady Musgrave Island and Wilson Island; there are numerous local activities available including fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving. There's also an abundance of wildlife in its three national parks; with secret beaches, sand dunes and estuaries offering a safe haven for many of Australia's native flora and fauna.
