Position Information
Marayong Public School is situated in Western Sydney. The school has a student population of approximately 621 students, including seven support classes (made up of students with autism, mild and moderate intellectual disabilities) and a preschool that caters for 80 students. Our school demographics include 67% of students from Non-English‑Speaking Backgrounds and 45 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students. Our school reflects a diversity of socioeconomic circumstances.
The Assistant Principal Inclusion and Support is a strategic, full time (face to face teaching 0.8 FTE) leadership role dedicated to inclusion, with a focus on facilitating improvement in the learning, wellbeing and independence of students with disabilities. The role shares the broader educational imperatives of the Assistant Principal position but with the explicit focus of driving improved outcomes for students with disability, providing a leadership role in mentoring staff across the school to support students with disability and building collaborative relationships with families of students with disability. The roles are located in mainstream primary schools with seven or more support classes.
