Job description
Mk2 Recruitment are seeking Qualified Industrial Electricians to join a major large-scale renewable energy project. This long-term role is critical to supporting the installation, commissioning and maintenance of high-capacity renewable fuel storage systems, contributing to Australia’s clean energy future and grid stability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, terminate, and test electrical cables, conduit, panels, switchgear, inverters, transformers and battery systems.
- Carry out electrical work in accordance with project specifications, national electrical codes and safety standards.
- Perform preventative maintenance and fault finding on high-voltage (HV) and low-voltage (LV) electrical equipment, including battery modules, inverters, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and technical manuals.
- Assist in the commissioning and decommissioning of battery energy storage systems.
- Coordinate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to ensure timely and accurate execution of work.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests and maintenance work using digital and paper documentation systems.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and complies with health, safety and environmental (HSE) policies.
- Participate in toolbox talks, safety briefings and ongoing training.
About You:
- Hold a Construction White Card.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in industrial electrical work (renewable energy or BESS experience highly regarded).
- Current Driver’s Licence.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans.
- Able to pass a Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screening.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks such as heavy repetitive lifting, kneeling and squatting.
