About the Role

Ready to put your technical expertise to work on systems that make a real difference? Join Babcock as an HF Node Maintenance Technician and play an important role in supporting the maintenance, performance and continuous improvement of mission-critical Defence systems and facilities.

In this hands-on role, you’ll investigate technical issues, troubleshoot faults and deliver practical solutions that keep systems operating safely, reliably and effectively. You’ll support preventative and corrective maintenance activities, contribute to engineering decisions and risk assessments, and produce accurate technical documentation to support ongoing operational readiness.

You’ll also have the opportunity to collaborate with experienced technical specialists across the wider Babcock network, sharing knowledge and identifying smarter ways to improve processes, quality and asset performance. Working in a highly secure environment where safety and quality are always front of mind, you’ll enjoy plenty of technical variety, problem solving and opportunities to expand your expertise. Occasional interstate travel may also be required.

About You

You’re a practical, solutions-focused technical professional who enjoys solving problems and getting the job done right. With around five years of experience in a technical environment, you’re confident working independently when needed while equally enjoying the opportunity to collaborate and share ideas with a team.

You bring strong written and verbal communication skills, confidence working with computer systems and technical documentation, and a genuine curiosity for understanding how things work. Experience within the Defence industry, along with a vocational qualification or certificate in a relevant technical discipline, will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’re proactive, dependable and eager to keep learning. You take ownership of your work, look for opportunities to improve the way things are done and enjoy contributing to a team where everyone plays a part in delivering great outcomes. You understand the importance of safety, security and professionalism and bring these values to everything you do.

To be successful in this position you will bring:

• Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Commonwealth Defence Security Clearance in line with AGSVA requirements- a minimum NV2, ideally TSVP required.
• Technical qualifications or relevant experience within the Defence industry will be highly regarded
• The ability to be locally based in Darwin (Humpty Doo) for this site-based position
