Group Financial & Compliance Reporting Specialist

Job Description

The Group Financial & Compliance Reporting Specialist will play a crucial role in helping to ensure compliance with accounting and sustainability standards, as well as banking covenants. The role will also support on key tasks such as the monthly consolidation, financial reporting and analysis ensuring accuracy, compliance, and the continued financial integrity of Abano.

The ideal candidate will possess strong technical accounting skills, and extensive knowledge, experience and understanding of compliance frameworks as they apply to statutory financial reporting, sustainability reporting and bank reporting.

The role work closely with the external auditors and other Finance teams, including FP&A and shared services finance, and other support staff as necessary.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge, understanding and practical experience with the application of accounting standards (IFRS / AASB), with particular emphasis on AASB 3 Business Combinations
• Strong understanding of the new sustainability reporting standards (AASB S1, AASB S2)
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, D365, Nomos and Accurri desirable
• Experience working in a fast-paced finance team environment
• Previous external audit experience is an essential requirement of this role, ensuring a strong understanding of external audit processes and financial reporting
• ESG experience desirable
• Commercial experience desirable
• Health / dental industry experience desirable
• CA / CPA qualified (or equivalent) - minimum 2 years post completion
