Course Manager (MBA and MIT) – Part-Time (0.6 FTE)

This is a part-time position (0.6 FTE)

Are you passionate about driving academic excellence and supporting students and staff in higher education? We’re looking for a dynamic Course Manager to coordinate and enhance our MBA and MIT programs.

Responsibilities

  • Course Scheduling and Staffing :

Work with the Campus Manager and Course Directors to create comprehensive academic schedules for MBA and MIT courses.

  • Ensure subjects are appropriately staffed and provide induction and ongoing support for teaching staff.
  • Approve payments to staff and liaise with subject writers and reviewers to ensure materials comply with policies.
  • Staff Support and Coordination :
  • Communicate with faculty to confirm teaching assignments and provide necessary templates, guidelines, and resources.

  • Address challenges such as conflicts between students and instructors or issues with resource availability.
  • Student Support :
  • Assist students with admission and enrolment by providing tailored course advice and resolving scheduling conflicts.

  • Monitor at-risk students, ensuring they meet learning contract conditions.
  • Liaise with study skills support staff to offer appropriate assistance to students in need.
  • Course Communication :
  • Serve as the main liaison between students, faculty, and administration to ensure smooth communication about key dates, updates, and changes.

  • Organise and lead course-related events, such as orientations, workshops, guest lectures, and networking opportunities for students and faculty.
  • Support recruitment and marketing efforts, including open days, content creation for web and social media, and promotional material preparation.
  • Compliance and Quality Assurance :
  • Ensure courses align with institutional policies, accreditation standards, and relevant regulations.

  • Track student enrolment data, retention rates, and graduation outcomes to support continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate amendments to course documentation in response to governance decisions and participate in audits and reviews.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, updates, and new course development.
  • Gather feedback from students and faculty to analyse course performance and inform enhancements.
  • Subject Development :
  • Develop engaging study materials for both face-to-face and online learning environments.

  • Committee Membership :
  • Actively participate in relevant committees to represent MBA and MIT courses and provide valuable insights.

  • Work Health and Safety :
  • Promote a culture of safety by communicating WHS importance, reporting hazards, and participating in WHS training.

  • Stay updated on and comply with WHS regulations and institutional policies, such as Staff Code of Conduct and Discrimination, Bullying, and Harassment Prevention Policy.
  • About You

    We’re seeking someone with :

  • A PhD in a relevant discipline.
  • Experience in higher education administration, including course and program coordination.
  • Knowledge of academic policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A passion for innovation, leveraging technology, and prioritising student success.
