Automotive Sales Manager - AUTOrecruit

Are you an experienced automotive sales leader ready to take charge of a thriving regional dealership? We’re looking for a dynamic General Sales Manager to lead our sales team, drive performance, and deliver an exceptional customer experience at our busy Gunnedah dealership.

About the Role

As the General Sales Manager, you will oversee all aspects of the dealership’s vehicle sales operations. You’ll mentor a motivated sales team, manage inventory and pricing, build strong customer relationships, and implement strategies to grow both new and used car sales.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and energetic manager to make a real impact in a supportive, community-focused dealership.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and develop the new and used vehicle sales teams

• Manage stock levels, pricing, reconditioning and online listings

• Set and monitor sales targets, KPIs and performance standards

• Drive lead generation, showroom activity and customer engagement

• Manage trade-ins, valuations and deal structures

• Build strong customer relationships and ensure a high level of satisfaction

• Work closely with the Dealer Principal on sales plans and market strategies

• Oversee presentation standards for vehicles and showroom

• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, franchise and dealership requirements

About You

• Proven experience in automotive sales management (new, used or both)

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop a team

• Excellent negotiation and closing abilities

• Confident understanding of stock management, valuations and reconditioning

• Strong digital marketing awareness (carsales, social media, lead platforms)

• High level of professionalism and customer service focus

• Results-driven, organised and proactive

• Ability to thrive in a regional environment and build local customer rapport
