Why this Role is Different: You won’t just be ticking boxes here. As our Educational Leader, you’ll have dedicated non-contact time — plus an Educational Leader allowance — to actually think, plan, and lead. We’re serious about giving you the time and resources to do meaningful work.
We know some providers offer full-time non-contact positions, and we want to be transparent about how we structure EL time at Edge. Our approach is built on a clear rule of thumb:
- One hour of base Educational Leader time per week
- Plus one additional hour per room in the service
For example, in a 5-room service, you would receive 6 hours of non-contact time each week, protected time to lead curriculum, mentor educators, and drive quality outcomes.

What You’ll Actually Do:
- Lead curriculum innovation – Develop programs aligned with EYLF that bring play-based learning to life
- Mentor your team – Support educators with constructive feedback that builds confidence and capability
- Champion holistic education – Weave together diverse learning experiences from outdoor adventures to cultural exploration
- Partner with families – Collaborate to enrich each child’s unique learning journey

What You Need:
- Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or higher.
- Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma, and Anaphylaxis Certificate, or willingness to obtain before you start.
- Current Child Protection Training Certificate, or willingness to obtain.
- Current Blue Card.
- Genuine passion for developing young minds
- Experience in curriculum development and play-based learning
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to balance multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
