Defendant Insurance Associate or Senior Associate

About the role:

  • Lead and manage complex insurance litigation matters, including: workers' compensation (60%), CTP (30%) and Dust Diseases (10%).
  • Advise a diverse client base, including insurers, brokers, self-insured entities, and government agencies.
  • Collaborate with a highly skilled team of lawyers and partners (team of approximately 18 legal professionals).
  • Provide strategic advice on policy coverage, risk management, and dispute resolution.
  • Mentor and support junior lawyers, contributing to the team’s development and success.

The ideal candidate:

  • Senior Associate (5+ PQE) with existing experience in defendant insurance law. Associate candidates are also encouraged to apply as well as candidates with plaintiff experience, interested in transitioning into defendant.
  • Proven ability to manage complex claims with minimal supervision.
  • Strong technical skills in drafting legal documents, advising on insurance policies, and handling court proceedings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to build and maintain strong client relationships.
