One of Australia’s leading Federal Government agencies is looking to engage highly skilled and experienced Senior AWS Cloud Engineers to support critical cloud transformation projects within the a mission critical program for an intelligence organisation. The successful candidates will be offered a 12-month contract with two 12-month extensions!
The successful Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to:
- Designing and implementing secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures.
- Leading cloud migration and modernisation projects, including legacy system rationalisation.
- Deploying automation and monitoring tools for resilient outcomes.
- Promoting cloud best practices and uplifting internal capability.
- Identifying opportunities for cost optimisation and service simplification.
- Supporting lifecycle management of systems and software within cloud environments.
The successful Senior AWS Cloud Engineer will have experience in the following:
- 5–10 years’ experience delivering AWS solutions for complex projects.
- Strong expertise in AWS services (compute, storage, networking, security).
- Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Knowledge of cloud security principles, compliance, and governance.
- Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering.
- Experience managing complex projects.
