About the role
We are currently seeking a DC Facilities Engineering Manager. This role is based in Noble Park DC.
- This role is responsible for the ongoing management (monitoring and performance) of sub-contractors and largescale electrical and mechanical services infrastructure.
- Infrastructure including all switchgear, electrical distribution systems, diesel generators, fuel systems, chilled water systems, data hall cooling systems, fire detection and suppression systems and environmental monitoring systems.
- The occupant will co-ordinate all preventive and remedial maintenance, prepare documentation according to standard protocols, arrange approvals prior to any works commencing, and supervise all activities carried out by contractors ensuring at all times appropriate PPE and WHS standard are maintained and adhered to.
- The occupant will also monitor all building services, identify and resolve any issues within your scope or escalate to team leaders and services providers and follow up to resolution.
- This role reports into Data Centre Manager and will be on-site working.
Responsibilities and Accountabilities
FAL management systems :
Implement and maintain approved processes compliant with FAL ISO27001 ISMS certificationImplement and maintain approved processes compliant with FAL ASIO T4 certificationImplement and maintain approved processes compliant with FAL Quality certificationParticipate in site auditing activitiesInfrastructure operation and maintenance :
Support site stability through effective equipment maintenance, performance monitoring, fault resolution and assistance with capacity planning.Undertake or supervise the operation of building infrastructure / equipment.Conduct regular building inspections, proactively identify issues and resolve them or apply risk reduction strategies pending resolution.Arrange and supervise maintenance according to an annual program and undertake all pre and post steps.Manage infrastructure maintenance activities and supervise contractors in relation to preventive and remedial maintenance, general repairs and new installations on a 24 x 7 basis.Liaise with clients and service providers as required.Monitor the site through a Building Management System, respond to infrastructure faults and breakdowns and provide situation management when required.Ensure all work performed (is clearly documented WMS, JSA and risk profile) meets the planned scope of works and is completed at an appropriate level of quality.Ensure that all works comply with safety standards for the protection of staff and contractors including communication and application of approved safe working methods.Ability to identify risks and issues, and implement appropriate interim or permanent resolutions in a critical environment.Subcontractor management and supervision including maintenance, repair and new installations. Both inside and outside of normal business hours.Maintenance and Project scope preparation.Meet agreed budget targets.Conduct minor repairs or installations as required to Fujitsu buildings.Support onsite team members after hours via on call roster.Asset and Records Management :
Maintain records including up to date drawings and documentation for all Data Centre infrastructureEnsure that records management procedures comply with FAL Quality Management SystemsMaintain an up-to-date Asset Register and asset tagging of all Data Centre infrastructureMaintain site documentation including but not limited to procedures and maintenance records.Security :
Ensure that confidentiality and security of data is maintained within scope of responsibilityEnsure appropriate security controls are in placePersonally adhere to the Fujitsu Australia Security policies to ensure that Fujitsu and customer information and technology resources are protected in line with confidentiality, integrity and availability principlesObtain, maintain and promote staff awareness of customer specific security policies.Assist in exercising security control of the facility.Provide first aid if required.WHS :
Periodically review the works area with local area manager and site WHS co-ordinator to assess the WHS aspects of the work environment and work procedures of the data centre teamActively review work procedures to ensure that all works performed in a safe mannerProvide adequate instruction, information, supervision and training to contractors to perform their works in a safe manner with appropriate WHS consideration, formal SWMS prior to execution of any works, with appropriate PPE and ensuring all new workers / contractors are provided with a formal long form induction inclusive of SWI trainingOrganise and attend appropriate WHS training courses as requiredInfrastructure Upgrades and installations :
Review plans, specifications and schedules submitted by contractors and project teams to ensure suitability and integration with existing infrastructure.Undertake infrastructure project management as requiredEnsure all works are controlled according to standard Data Centre Change Management proceduresEnsure that all works comply with safety standards for the protection of staff and contractors including communication and application of approved safe working methods.Sustainability :

Minimum 3 years facilities management experience in a large-scale data centreDemonstrated technical skills and experience in supporting electrical and / or mechanical services infrastructure. Electrical / Mechanical trade certification would be an advantage but is not mandatorySound initiativeGood oral and written communication skillsHolding a current First Aid Certification or willing to be trained in First AidAbility to work in a team environmentExperience in managing maintenance contractorsGood knowledge of occupational health & safety and environmental work practicesGood understanding of building services and maintenance requirements.Ability to identify risks and issues and implement appropriate interim or permanent resolutions in a critical environment.Qualifications and Experience
Formal electrical / mechanical qualifications are not essential but would be highly regardedGood skills in the use of Microsoft Visio would be an advantageNon-Technical Competencies
