Senior Design Draftsperson

Join Sunwater as Senior Design Draftsperson, where you’ll play a vital role in providing high quality CAD and electrical engineering drafting services, while developing the capability of a dedicated drafting team.

In this role You will support a diverse portfolio of electrical infrastructure and asset upgrade projects across Sunwater’s bulk water network, including pumping stations, water supply schemes, treatment facilities and dam infrastructure. This includes producing and managing electrical drawings and digital models for power distribution systems, control systems, instrumentation, communications, and integration with civil and mechanical works, ensuring alignment with relevant standards, safety requirements and digital engineering principles.

As a Senior Design Draftsperson at Sunwater, you will:

• Deliver modelling and drafting support services for engineering design and investigation projects by developing accurate and effective digital models using contemporary and emerging technologies.
• Collaborate closely with engineers and key stakeholders to produce reliable, cost-effective project concepts and designs, managing digital asset presentation and visualisation processes including 2D, 3D and VR outputs.
• Provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise to support the growth and development of junior drafting team members, including undertaking quality reviews of drafting outputs and formally approving completed work.

About you

We are seeking a talented individual with minimum 5+ years’ experience as a Senior Designer or Senior Design Draftsperson. You will hold an Associate Degree in Engineering from a recognised tertiary institution (or equivalent) and bring proven experience using AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical.

This fixed term position until May 2028 offers an array of attractive benefits including:
