Visiting Medical Officer in General Practice (GP VMO) – Emergency Medicine

We are seeking committed, motivated General Practitioners to join the Maitland Hospital Emergency Department as Visiting Medical Officers in General Practice, a unique long‑term employment opportunity designed to foster career progression within an Emergency Department.
This role supports development into a highly valued senior member of the ED team, with structured educational and procedural expectations tailored to your experience. Each GP VMO will have access to an Associateship‑accredited supervisor, protected non‑clinical time for professional development, and opportunities to build leadership capacity within the department.
As part of the Senior Medical Team, you’ll take on key roles in clinical governance, education, operations, logistics or research. Your commitment to departmental meetings, clinical practice development, and policy shaping is vital to the ongoing excellence of Maitland ED.
