Position Description :
We are currently seeking a motivated and experienced cook to join our team. As the cook, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and efficiency. The role involves a diverse range of duties as outlined below :
Key Duties and Responsibilities :
- Inspecting foodstuffs to ensure they meet quality standards and are suitable for preparation.
- Regulating the temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment to ensure proper cooking conditions.
- Preparing and cooking food according to recipes, ensuring consistency and high standards.
- Seasoning food during the cooking process to enhance flavour and ensure taste quality.
- Portioning food, plating it, and adding sauces, gravies, and garnishes for presentation.
- Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities to maintain freshness and prevent spoilage.
- Preparing food to accommodate special dietary requirements or customer preferences.
- Planning menus and estimating food quantities required for service, ensuring efficient food preparation.
- Training and mentoring kitchen staff and apprentices to develop their skills and ensure adherence to food safety standards.
