The Opportunity

Join a world-class team shaping the future of geotechnical research. The Department of Civil & Environmental Engineering is seeking a Senior Technical Officer with strong technical expertise and geotechnical experience to deliver high-quality technical services in support of our Geomechanics program.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and conduct a range of standard and specialist geotechnical tests.
• Train and supervise students and researchers in safe use of equipment and testing techniques.
• Maintain a compliant, efficient, and safe laboratory environment.
• Provide expert advice and technical support to staff, students, and researchers to enable impactful teaching and research outcomes.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will bring demonstrated hands‑on technical experience in geotechnical engineering, with the ability to support complex laboratory operations and contribute to high-quality research outputs.
