Operational Support Officer – Department of Transport Contract

Location: Fremantle Depot
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 3:30pm (with flexibility)
Pay Rate: $51.39 per hour
Rostered Day Off: 1x RDO per month

Ventia is seeking a proactive and experienced Operational Support Officer to join our dedicated team supporting the Department of Transport contract. In this dynamic role, you’ll work closely with Supervisors and Coordinators to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of our work sites.

You’ll be responsible for assisting in planning and coordinating reactive, programmed, and routine maintenance activities, liaising with both Ventia personnel and subcontractors. This role also includes administrative and operational support such as reporting, raising purchase orders, and other coordination tasks.

Key Responsibilities

• Issue work permits and ensure compliance
• Verify employee inductions and site readiness
• Conduct site inspections and audits
• Experience in quoting/scoping trade work and procurement processes
• Support scheduling and coordination of maintenance activities
• Maintain accurate records and reporting

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience in a similar operational or coordination role
• Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise effectively
• Working knowledge of SAP/Ariba or similar systems
• Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
• High attention to detail and commitment to safety
• Ability to work independently and show initiative
• Valid WA Driver’s Licence
• Trade background
• Understanding of safety procedures and permit systems
