The role
Due to upcoming growth opportunities in South‑East Queensland, we are seeking an experienced Contracts Administrator to support the successful delivery of a growing portfolio of projects. This role plays a critical part in providing strong commercial and contractual governance, ensuring project administrative and financial controls are effectively managed. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider delivery team, you will help ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations, supporting Barpa’s continued expansion in the region.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers are engaged under formal agreements prior to commencement.
- Administer head contracts and subcontracts in line with project and company requirements.
- Manage variations, progress claims, tax invoices, and security of payment processes.
- Support procurement activities, including tender lists, tender documentation, trade letting, and procurement programming.
- Monitor project budgets, process accounts, and prepare monthly cost forecasts.
- Ensure procurement and commercial activities align with approved budgets, contingencies, and delegation of authority.
About you
Essential
Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.Minimum 4 years’ experience in a Contracts Administrator role within the construction industry.Experience working on commercial construction projects valued between $1m–$50m.Strong commercial acumen and understanding of head contracts and subcontract administration.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Desirable
Experience across Defence, Education, Health, or Government projects.Experience using contract administration systems (e.g. Aconex, PayApps, Project Centre or similar).Ability to work across site and office environments in a fast‑paced delivery setting.Benefits and perks
