About the Role
Occupational Therapist role at HammondCare, located at Braeside Hospital, Prairiewood NSW. 12‑month fixed term, full‑time. The role provides comprehensive occupational therapy services to older adults, including older person’s mental health, rehabilitation, and palliative care settings.
Responsibilities
- Provide effective Occupational Therapy service to clients and appropriate support and advice to their carers.
- Participate as a member of the multi‑disciplinary team in assessing patients’ level of functional and care needs, setting care goals and providing appropriate treatment.
- Participate in the application of HammondCare’s Mission and values to the pursuit of client‑centred continuous quality improvement.
About You
Commitment to engage with and align with HammondCare’s Christian Mission and values.Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy acceptable to the Occupational Therapists Association of Australia as a practising member.Significant practical experience or extensive knowledge in providing Occupational Therapy Services in a rehabilitation, aged care or palliative care setting; experience across inpatient and outpatient / community settings desirable.Current driver’s licence and safe driving record.Willingness to travel between HammondCare sites and services.Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills (written and verbal).Demonstrated organisation and time‑management skills.Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.Empathy and patience.Desirable
