The Customer Services Branch sits within the Customer Services, Safety and Regulation (CSSR) Division. It is a committed customer-focused branch providing trusted and secure services while supporting safe road use. The Branch focuses on making government services easy and accessible, leading and delivering activities supporting road safety outcomes for the community, and providing trusted, accessible, and quality identity services for Queenslanders while fostering an inclusive and safety-focused culture where employees are capable, engaged, and committed to improvement.

The Customer Services Branch is seeking to appoint to a newly created role of Director (People & Wellbeing).

Workplace Location : The purpose of the Director (People and Wellbeing) is to lead and manage a large professional unit undertaking a range of human resources and health, safety, and wellbeing functions with a focus on working in partnership with business units to optimise service delivery outcomes across the branch.
Some of your responsibilities will include :
Leading and managing a team of professionals in the development and implementation of people (human resources, industrial relations, learning and development) as well as wellbeing (health, safety, environmental) strategies to ensure business effectiveness is maximised across the branch.Ensuring a business partnering model exists to support an optimized professional services business that can leverage technology, innovation, and agile ways of working.Providing leadership and direction to the team, establishing operational plans, managing resources, and achieving agreed goals and objectives.Providing high-level specialist advice and recommending solutions to complex human resources, industrial relations, training, workforce strategy, agility, and HSE issues with a branch and divisional focus.Delivering strategy, policy advice, process improvement, management, and oversight of the human resources, learning and development, health, safety, and environmental functions.Participating as an integral member of the Senior Management Team, providing advice and management of people and wellbeing for the branch.About you

Demonstrated leadership, deep knowledge, and experience in managing people (human resources, industrial relations, learning and development) as well as wellbeing (health, safety, environmental) functions to ensure development and implementation of strategies that deliver tangible business improvement.Well-developed ability to build and sustain effective working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, and then work collaboratively in a changing environment to achieve business outcomes.Highly developed conceptual and analytical skills including the ability to rapidly problem solve and make sound decisions.Demonstrated ability to adopt new technologies and ways of working, championing change and fostering innovation.Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence others and negotiate in difficult circumstances.Demonstrated skills in promoting an inclusive workplace where health, safety, diversity, and wellbeing are prioritised.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
