The Opportunity
CISS are looking for a Project Officer to support the National Feral Cat and Fox Management Program. This program aims to reduce the impacts of these invasive predators on biodiversity, agricultural production and First Nations lands across Australia. This is a full-time contract position commencing in March 2026 until November 2027.

You can be located nationwide with the ability to work remotely from home anywhere in Australia. You will travel regularly (approximately quarterly) to different locations across Australia.
The Role
Reporting to the National Coordinator, your key responsibilities will be to :
Support the delivery of the National Feral Cat and Fox Management Program by coordinating activities and ensuring key deliverables are completed on time.Create clear and engaging communication and extension materials to promote best-practice invasive species management.Develop and update content for websites, social media, newsletters and media releases to share program outcomes.Help plan and deliver online and in-person workshops, webinars and stakeholder engagement activities.Undertake background research on policy, legislation and scientific developments to inform program activities.Assist with program reporting, administration and meeting coordination.The Ideal Person
You bring experience supporting projects that deliver best-practice invasive species management for vertebrate pests, ideally gained within a government agency or non-government peak body. This is supported by a tertiary qualification in environmental science, conservation, natural resource management or a related discipline. Youre driven by the opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant program that makes a national impact.
Youll bring to the role :
Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience translating scientific, policy and legislative information into clear, engaging and educative materials.An ability to build and maintain effective relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders in the natural resource management sector.A professional and evidence-based approach to communicating about sensitive and contentious topics.Demonstrated experience supporting projects, balancing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.A high level of attention to detail.A current drivers licence and a willingness to travel within Australia.Salary / Rate
$90,000 pa + 12% super.Full-time contract position until November 2027 with an expected start date in March 2026.Work remotely from home in any location nation-wide.Regular (approximately quarterly) travel required to locations around Australia.
