Compensation Advocate - Toowoomba

The Compensation Advocate provides advice and assistance directly to our members, their families and the wider community in relation to a wide range of claims and appeals matters to the Departments of Veterans Affairs.

  • Preparation & Submission of Claims to the DVA
  • Maintain regular contact with the individuals who have made the claims
  • Write case notes and file notes of interviews with veterans and their families, including documenting actions to be taken and referrals to other agencies under supervision
  • Maintain the client database (CRM) to ensure timely and accurate data within confidentiality protocols
  • Monitor the progress of claims and appeals that have been lodged on
  • Maintain reference documentation relevant to the position and share information with colleagues within privacy rules
  • Escalate issues if needed to the Manager to ensure the best service is provided to veterans and their families
  • Assess outcomes under supervision and understand whether the client should accept of appeal determinations

Experience :

  • Excellent Customer Service experience
  • Case Management or Claims experience is advantageous
  • An empathetic, warm, and friendly communicator is paramount
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Conscientious and highly focused individual
  • Permanent, Full Time (38 hours a week) Monday to Friday.
  • Commencement Salary : $81,788.85, plus superannuation, plus salary sacrifice
  • Location : Toowoomba or Brisbane
  • Reporting to : Compensation Operations Manager.
