Job description

Seeking a technical Legal Policy Officer to work on telecommunication legislation and standards.

  • Your new company

This regulator is responsible for providing regulation, education and communication to all Australians for communication infrastructure, services and media content. This division is responsible for policy, compliance and enforcement of matters related to telecommunication issues and ensuring a safeguard is in place for Australians.

  • Your new role

    • Your new role will see you be responsible for providing strategic technical legislative policy advice for the telecommunication industry. Your duties will include :

  • Assess and develop new regulatory frameworks
  • Develop new standards for telecommunication services & providers
  • Provide strategic advice to external & internal providers
  • Work closely with stakeholders to develop key strategic relationships.
  • What you'll need to succeed

    • In order to be successful in this exciting opportunity, you must have an individual who shows initiative and a willingness to help, along with the following :

  • Prior experience working in an APS environment where an understanding of complex legislation is required
  • Excellent written communication, to articulate complex information in an easy-to-understand way.
  • The ability to work well in a geographically dispersed team.
