About the program The Better Futures and Home Stretch program supports young people in Out of Home Care between the ages of 16 and 21 achieve successful and independent adult lives; helping them to have an active voice in decisions about their future and guiding their transition to adulthood and independent living across a range of life areas, including housing, health and wellbeing, education, employment and community and cultural connections.

Better Futures is a part of the broader Leaving Care response provided to young people who are or were in Out of Home Care or permanent care orders funded by the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (DFFH) across the Northern Metro, Hume Moreland and Western Melbourne Brimbank Melton areas.

Better Futures recognises that all young people require ongoing support to develop and maintain their transition to independence.

Your Opportunity Full time, Fixed term role until April 2026$115K salary + Super & Salary PackagingHybrid roleThis role provides leadership and coordination to a team of Development coaches working across leaving care services. Better Futures supports young people 16-21 by engaging with them and their support networks, including case managers and care teams early in their transition from care, across five service offers, housing and living skills, education, employment, health and wellbeing and community connections in line with the Advantaged Thinking framework and principles.

The Team Leader has a significant leadership role that provides support, supervision, and direction to staff and in conjunction with the Senior Manager, to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement in the delivery of the service.

This position will cultivate strong relationships with key external stakeholders including DFFH and housing providers and will work closely with organisational leaders to drive high-quality youth housing programs for young people.

About You The Better Futures team are looking for a passionate and experienced leader who believes in the potential of young people and is committed to supporting their journey toward independence. With a strong background in youth work, social services, or a related field, you bring both strategic insight and hands-on experience to your leadership style.
