About Us

We are a forward-thinking residential design and architecture firm delivering high-quality custom homes, dual occupancies, and townhouses. Our mission is to create innovative, buildable, and regulation-compliant designs while maintaining an exceptional client experience. We are currently expanding and looking for a skilled Building Designer to join our collaborative and design-driven team.

Overview

The Building Designer plays a hands-on role in developing residential design projects from concept through to council and construction documentation. Working closely with the Design Manager and other consultants, the designer is responsible for producing accurate, compliant, and visually engaging design documentation that meets both client needs and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development : Translate client briefs into creative, practical residential designs (single dwellings, duplexes, townhouses, etc.). Produce plans, elevations, and 3D visuals; ensure compliance with NCC, LEPs / DCPs, SEPP, and Australian Standards.
  • Drafting & Documentation : Prepare DA, CDC, and construction drawing packages (Revit or AutoCAD). Maintain clarity, accuracy, and consistency in drawings and templates.
  • Collaborate with Design Manager, engineers, planners, certifiers, and surveyors to integrate feedback and deliver coordinated design packages.
  • Technical Detailing : Develop construction details suitable for timber framing and lightweight systems. Identify and elevate complex issues when required.
  • Project & File Management : Maintain proper version control, project registers, and naming conventions. Deliver tasks on schedule and report bottlenecks early.
  • Software & Tools : Use Revit, AutoCAD, or ArchiCAD, plus Microsoft Office and Adobe tools. Follow internal CAD / BIM standards and contribute to workflow improvements.

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications : Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Building Design or Architecture (with registration / accreditation as required).
  • Experience : 2–5 years in residential design or documentation (DA / CDC / construction).
  • Skills : Strong knowledge of planning and building codes, attention to detail, effective communication, time management, and teamwork.
  • Ideal Candidate

A proactive, detail-focused designer with a solid technical foundation and a creative approach to problem‑solving. They’ll be confident in preparing documentation, communicating with stakeholders, and balancing design quality with compliance — while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment.
