About The Role

Concord Repatriation General Hospital is proud of its healthcare service excellence and leadership in clinical care. Concord is part of a network of hospitals and healthcare services within Sydney Local Health District.

The McGrath Cancer Care Nurse – Lung, Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals in relation to lung cancer through the delivery of specialist consultant services.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs.
  • Provides leadership in the ongoing development of specialist services for people with lung cancer and facilitates innovative clinical practice reflecting the McGrath Model of Care.
  • Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.
  • Contributes to the development and delivery of specialty‑related education programmes.
  • Participates in formal processes for the strategic and operational planning for the clinical service.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full‑time equivalent post‑registration experience, including at least 3 years full‑time equivalent experience in oncology / lung cancer care nursing.
  • Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
  • Proven ability to consult, review, and develop both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant specialty.
