As a Recovery Support Worker in our Transition from Corrections program, you’ll work alongside people as they prepare to leave correctional settings and rebuild their lives in the community. Working collaboratively with Prison Mental Health services, you’ll provide reach-in support while clients are still incarcerated and continue that connection through intensive, community-based support following their release.

You’ll help people navigate the practical and personal challenges that come with transition, supporting them to work towards their goals, strengthen their independence and reconnect with their community. From everyday tasks and activities through to building trusted relationships with services and stakeholders, your work will help create greater stability, confidence and opportunity for the people you support.

This is a role where relationships matter. You’ll bring a recovery-focused, person-centred approach to every interaction, while contributing to a supportive team culture and maintaining the quality, safety and documentation standards that underpin great service delivery.

You’ll be comfortable working independently, managing competing priorities and building strong relationships across services and the broader community. Just as importantly, you’ll bring sound judgement, reliability and a genuine commitment to supporting people to move forward.

You will have:

• A Diploma in a human services related field and/or relevant experience supporting people experiencing mental health challenges
• The ability to work autonomously and professionally in line with RFQ’s recovery-oriented approach, values and service philosophy
• Strong organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage a caseload, meet KPIs and complete outcome measures and safety planning
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, stakeholders and service providers
• Sound professional judgement, clear professional boundaries and a high level of integrity
