Procurement Manager

What’s the role:

Macheda Transport is seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to oversee end-to-end procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory operations across our transport and storage business.

Reporting to senior management, this role is responsible for ensuring cost-effective sourcing, efficient supply operations, and reliable service delivery aligned with operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan, organise, direct, and control procurement, storage, and distribution activities.
2. Develop and implement procurement and inventory strategies to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost.
3. Manage supplier sourcing, RFQs, tenders, and commercial negotiations to meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
4. Oversee logistics operations including freight coordination, warehousing, and distribution.
5. Monitor inventory systems, stock movement, and re-ordering to ensure operational continuity.
6. Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers regarding material, transport, and service requirements.
7. Ensure accurate recording of purchasing, storage, and distribution transactions.
8. Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and process efficiency.
9. Lead, supervise, and develop staff involved in procurement, supply chain, and warehousing.
10. Ensure compliance with safety, OH&S, and operational standards.

Who are you:

1. 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or transport operations.
2. Strong commercial and negotiation skills with supplier and contract management experience.
3. Proven ability to manage inventory, logistics, and warehousing operations.
4. Confident communicator with strong stakeholder and team leadership skills.
5. Highly organised, proactive, and focused on operational efficiency and cost control.
