  • Salary ranges from $149,739 to $173,174 p.a. plus superannuation and annual leave loading

About The Role

We’re looking for a change manager who can drive strategic initiatives and end‑to‑end delivery with a human‑centred focus. This role will involve managing changes related to people, technology and processes. The Change Manager is responsible for developing and implementing a change plan, strategy, and associated activities within service redesign projects. The role includes providing expert change advice, guidance and support to stakeholders to ensure high‑quality change outcomes for the project. The Change Manager will directly supervise a team of Change Analysts, providing leadership, coaching and professional development to build capability and ensure consistent delivery of change practices across the team.

About You

As a Change Manager, you’ll have proven end‑to‑end change management expertise and solid understanding of change management frameworks, with demonstrated experience leading organisational change from strategy through to implementation. You’ll not only design high‑level change approach but also take a hands‑on approach at operational level.

You Will Also Bring

  • Strong experience managing change initiatives such as delivering change planning, detailed change and business impact assessments, assessing a range of change intervention options and monitoring the progress of change programmes to deliver customer outcomes.
  • Exceptional communication, facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills, and drive commitment across multiple programmes.
  • Strong understanding of current issues and trends in Education, including an understanding of the principles that inform quality service delivery and operational consistency.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and influence without authority.
  • Experience working within Government Agencies and navigating governance is desirable.
  • Key Knowledge And Experience

  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
  • Essential Requirements Of The Role

  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management with a focus on change management and / or equivalent experience in change management.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.

    The selection process will include a range of assessment techniques to assist in determining your suitability for the role. Successful candidates will be required to undertake pre‑employment screening for this role which includes a National Criminal History Check.

    As a condition of employment, successful candidates not currently employed by the Department must provide a valid Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance number. Renewal is not required after the WWCC expires, as long as you remain in a non‑child‑related role. Employer obligations only apply while the WWCC is valid.

    Candidates must have Australian work rights (citizens, permanent residents, New Zealand citizens or a valid work visa). Ongoing (permanent) roles are open to Australian citizens and permanent residents and New Zealand citizens, while temporary roles welcome applicants with a visa.
