Job description

Your opportunity

Looking for a Speech Pathology role that gives you flexibility, clinical variety and a genuinely supportive team?

Join Plena Healthcare's national Speech Pathology team as a mobile Speech Pathologist, providing meaningful care to adults across residential aged care and community settings on the Central Coast.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Speech Pathologist or recent graduate looking to build their skills in adult practice, with the support of an experienced clinical team behind you.

You'll work with a diverse caseload, supporting adults living with dementia, Parkinson's disease, stroke, progressive neurological conditions and age-related changes, across both communication and dysphagia.

Part time role (2 days), open to casual.

Why you'll love this role

  • Flexibility that works around you – manage your own calendar and choose the hours that work best for your lifestyle.
  • Make a meaningful difference – support adults to maintain their communication, independence, dignity and quality of life.
  • A varied adult caseload – build experience across dysphagia and communication in both residential aged care and community settings.
  • Support when you need it – you'll be part of a close-knit national Speech Pathology team with regular clinical supervision and plenty of opportunities to connect with experienced clinicians.
  • Great opportunity for new graduates – receive 1:1 supervision, dedicated support and guidance as you develop your clinical confidence.
  • Keep growing professionally – access $500 each year towards professional development, plus regular internal workshops and full-day PD sessions.
  • Clinical autonomy – manage your own day, make your own clinical decisions and have the freedom to practise independently while knowing your team is there to support you.
  • Opportunities beyond the Central Coast – for clinicians interested in it, there may also be opportunities to support clients in regional locations.

What you'll be doing

As a mobile Speech Pathologist, you'll:

  • Assess and provide evidence-based intervention for swallowing and communication difficulties.
  • Support adults with a range of neurological and age-related conditions.
  • Provide assessment and intervention across residential aged care and community settings.
  • Manage your own appointments, calendar and travel schedule.
  • Deliver telehealth assessment and intervention where appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with clients, families, support coordinators, facility staff and other healthcare professionals.
  • Provide education and recommendations to clients, families, support staff and colleagues.
  • Advocate for clients and help them achieve meaningful goals.
  • Connect with our national Speech Pathology team to share knowledge, ideas and clinical expertise.

Build your career with Plena

At Plena Healthcare, we believe you should be able to build a rewarding career without sacrificing your work-life balance.

You'll have the flexibility to structure your day around your life, while still having the support, connection and clinical resources of a national team behind you.

For new graduates, you'll have access to regular 1:1 clinical supervision (30 minutes per week) alongside support from experienced Speech Pathologists. Experienced clinicians have access to senior group supervision and a national community of clinicians to collaborate with.

We're committed to helping you continue to grow, with a $500 annual professional development allowance, regular internal professional development sessions and opportunities to pursue areas of clinical interest.

About you

To join our team, you'll need:

  • A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Current membership with Speech Pathology Australia.
  • A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle, as this is a mobile role.
  • A passion for supporting adults to live healthier, happier and more independent lives.

This is a permanent part-time position, working 2 days per week, with casual opportunities also available.
