Job description
  • This is a Permanent Part Time appointment at 36 hours per fortnight.

Position Profile: Are you a nursing professional with a passion for research and a deep-seated commitment to improving the health of children and adolescents? The Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) invites you to bring your expertise and dedication to a role where you can make a lasting impact. As our Nurse Researcher, you will be at the heart of advancing evidence-based practice within our Community Health (CACH) directorate, ensuring every child in WA has the chance to achieve their best health and wellbeing.

This is more than a research position; it's an opportunity to mentor, inspire, and lead. You will be instrumental in building a vibrant research culture, guiding our dedicated nursing staff to translate curiosity into credible findings that directly enhance patient care.

Reporting to the Nurse Director, you will be the driving force behind the CACH Nursing Research Program. Some of your key responsibilities will be to:

    • Champion Research Excellence: Support the development and implementation of key research priorities for CACH nursing, identifying studies and activities that align with national and international standards.
    • Mentor and Empower: Create an integrated research network, nurturing novice nurse researchers and guiding clinical staff through project development, ethics requirements, and grant applications.
    • Translate Evidence into Practice: Play a crucial role in helping nurses understand and apply research findings in the clinical setting to inform and improve their practice.

About Child & Adolescent Community Health (CACH): Community Health provides health and developmental assessments, early intervention and health promotion services for children and young people.

These services are provided in the community across the Perth metropolitan area at community health centres, in schools, home visits and through telehealth appointments. Services focus on child health, growth and development, behaviour, immunisation and supporting families.
