About the Role -Be a Part of This Success Story!

This role is both customer support and product development. Your role will be not only to support customer delivery using HyperSec products but to improve the core products themselves. HyperSec uses a tight loop customer engagement model for its product development and enhancement and this role is pivotal to this approach. You will be coding. This is not simply a ticket pulling role.

As we continue to grow, we are seeking aProduct Support and Development Engineerto join our dynamic team. While all candidates with experience in data engineering and supporting code development are invited to apply, our ideal candidate will have transferableskills gained from working with data at scale in a customer support focused role.

You will be part of a leading-edge team initially working with data at scale, supporting flexible ingestion for Cyber Security, Telecommunications, Financial and Defence segments. This is primarily a product development role, where you will be required to work closely with customers to expand the product offering and implement use cases aligned to their specific needs. Solid communications skills are paramount, as you will be required to support customers with escalated issues.

This role will see you working with leading-edge tooling that is continuously updated. Your skills will increase rapidly. You must strive to keep current and be driven to embrace newer, emerging, and more effective techniques and software. Working alongside industry leaders within their chosen areas of expertise, you are expected to develop into a more senior role within 12 - 24 months.

About You

Essential skills and experience

• 1-3 years of back-end code development experience for data processing purposes
• Real-world development experience with Python and JSON
• Experience with parsing data
• Excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communications skills
• Must be an Australian citizen, residing in Australia
• Experience with AWS and Terraform
• Familiarity with K8S for container orchestration
• Customer-facing experience, with a focus on product support and data-related issues

Desirable skills and experience– real-world experience transferable beyond the classroom

• Real-world experience transferable beyond the classroom
• Working with data at scale
• The application of schemas and dependent transport protocols
• Experience with Golang or Rust
• Experience with Apache Kafka
• Experience in the automation, deployment, scaling, and management of containerised applications – including Docker and K8S
• Exposure to data serialisation formats such as XML, Protobuf, Avro and/or Parquet
• Familiar with the operation of Public Cloud infrastructure – with a preference for AWS
