The Royal Flying Doctor Service Victoria (RFDS Vic) delivers essential patient transport and volunteer programs that connect people and communities right across the state. From metropolitan hospitals to regional and remote towns, RFDS Vic ensures every Victorian can access safe, reliable, and compassionate care when they need it most.
We are seeking an accomplished leader to lead these vital operations — guiding teams across Victoria to deliver person-centred transport and community support services that reflect RFDS Vic’s commitment to safety, quality, and care.
Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director, Patient Transport and Volunteer Services will lead the strategic, operational, and day‑to‑day management of RFDS Vic’s patient transport programmes and volunteer services. This includes statewide oversight of paid and volunteer teams, coordination of regional operations, and ensuring excellence in safety, service delivery, and patient experience. The Director also actively drives growth by identifying new opportunities and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring that services remain scalable, high‑impact, and closely aligned with RFDS Victoria’s mission.
You are a proven operational leader who combines commercial acumen with compassion and community values. You value and respect the contribution of volunteers, recognising their vital role in strengthening regional communities. You thrive in complex, multi‑stakeholder environments, bringing clarity, structure and focus to evolving service model.
