Housed under the banner of Workwear Group, our three iconic brands - KingGee, Hard Yakka and NNT - have been in the business of delivering workwear since the late 1920's.

We are the trusted partner in workwear solutions, manufacturing over seven million units each year. What sets us apart is our continuous investment in innovation, market knowledge, pioneering ideas and sustainability practices.

We work as one team. We put our customers first and are passionate about what we do. Joining WWG is an opportunity to thrive in an inspiring, safe, and inclusive community.

About the Role

As a Garment Technician, you’ll drive the technical development of products across our corporate, brand, and industrial ranges by transforming design briefs into fully resolved, production‑ready garments. You’ll lead the creation of accurate tech packs, manage trims development, coordinate and assess samples, and oversee fittings to ensure quality, fit, and compliance at every stage.

Working closely with factories, you’ll maintain Critical Path alignment, manage size charts and grading accuracy, and support NPD close‑out through Goldseal approvals. You’ll contribute to risk assessments, uphold product compliance standards, and play a key mentoring role within the technical team through knowledge sharing and capability development.

What you’ll be doing

  • Develop and maintain specialist technical knowledge in garments, trims, patterns, garment fitting, or other relevant subspecialties.
  • Create, update, and manage accurate tech packs and trims documentation with strong version control practices.
  • Select, develop, and test trims to support product functionality, quality, and manufacturability.
  • Request, coordinate, and review product samples, ensuring factories are properly briefed and aligned to Critical Path timelines.
  • Assess samples for quality, construction, compliance, and readiness, maintaining accurate WIP tracking.
  • Coordinate product fittings and manage sample workflows to ensure consistent sizing, fit, and function.
  • Maintain accurate size charts and grading templates, ensuring consistent application across products.
  • Complete NPD close‑out activities, including Goldseal approval of Pre‑Production samples for factories and the quality team.
  • Contribute to risk assessments by identifying issues, supporting action plans, and assisting with risk close‑out.
  • Support and mentor the technical team by sharing expertise, providing guidance, and contributing to capability development.

  • Embrace innovation, take calculated risks, and inspire others to think outside the box
  • Ability to build meaningful relationships, we prioritise our customers. Balancing commercial goals with customer satisfaction is key
  • Ethical standards and demonstrating honesty and integrity in all interactions is fundamental to our team culture.

  • An experienced Garment Technician with 3+ years in a similar technical apparel role across corporate, brand, or industrial products.
  • Strong technical capability in tech pack development, trims, patterns, sample assessment, and garment fitting.
  • Proven ability to manage Critical Path timelines, coordinate with factories, and drive products from concept to production.
  • Solid understanding of compliance, grading, size specifications, and risk mitigation within apparel development.
  • A collaborative technical professional who enjoys sharing knowledge, supporting peers, and contributing to continuous improvement.

What we offer

  • The chance to join a great team of like-minded, hard-working people who are passionate about achieving our vision and the growth objectives of the company.
  • Flexible working environment, allowing for work from home day/s each week.
  • A competitive salary package and suite of benefits and perks, including a 50% discount on our brands Hard Yakka, KingGee and NNT and 5% Wesfarmers discount for Kmart, Bunnings, Officeworks and more.
