If 2026 is the year you are looking to return to Australia, we have some exciting opportunities in our Internal Audit teams to support with accelerating your career.

We are actively recruiting professionals with Internal Audit experience in Australia and who can start in early 2026.

As part of EY Risk Consulting, you will be given the leading-edge tools and technology you need to develop your skills and contribute to impactful work supporting our clients across diverse industry sectors. EY Internal Audit professionals perform Internal Audit services for our clients across a broad range of industries, including Government, Health, Education and Corporates including top 20 ASX listed entities. We help our clients to improve business process and control measures so that executives are confident key risks are being managed, and decision making can occur with accuracy and at speed. The work we perform hasa genuine impact on the organisations we work with and their ability to achieve their strategic goals.

This role can be performed from any of our EY offices in Australia (Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane and Perth). Our roles can potentially be adjusted to work flexibly with reduced hours. Please speak with us about potential options.

Your key responsibilities

• Deliver risk engagements, from planning through to reporting, across compliance, financial, operational, and strategic risk areas, ensuring high quality outcomes while coaching and developing junior team members.
• Apply your risk and sector‑specific knowledge to assess clients’ processes and controls, identify opportunities to mitigate risks, and recommend improvements that enhance process efficiency, effectiveness and business performance.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends, regulatory changes, and EY tools, and apply this knowledge to enhance audit approaches and client solutions.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, becoming their trusted advisor by supporting them in understanding and managing key business risks and in the design and delivery of their internal audit plans (in both co‑sourced and outsourced environments).
• Lead teams to deliver risk engagements across compliance, financial, operational, and strategic risk areas, ensuring high quality outcomes while coaching and developing junior team members.
• Apply your risk and sector‑specific knowledge to provide impactful, practical recommendations that help clients manage risks and strengthen their internal control frameworks.
• Stay current with emerging industry trends, regulatory changes, and EY tools, and apply this knowledge to enhance audit approaches and client solutions.

Eligibility, skills and attributes for success

• Hold valid working rights for Australia (Citizens or Permanent Residents).
• Professional accreditations and qualifications will also be considered favourably (CPA, CISA, CA, CIA, CISM, CISSP, CBCP, CIPP certification within one year of hire).
• Proven ability to deliver engagements end‑to‑end, producing high‑quality work on time through strong analytical skills, organisational capability and attention to detail. You take ownership of your work and see it through.
• Sound understanding of core business processes, risks and controls, with the ability to assess control design and operating effectiveness and identify improvement opportunities.
• As a Senior Consultant you will have minimum 3 years’ experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.
• As a Manager you will have minimum 6 years’ experience delivering external audit and assurance engagements.

• Team player with a collaborative mindset, you want to contribute positively to team culture and help uplift and coach others.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication and skills including the ability to write clearly and concisely to produce high‑quality audit reports and workpapers.
• Curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning, staying up to date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
