Overview

Team Leader Workforce (Early Education) role at Sutherland Shire Council. Lead, inspire, make a lasting impact. We’re looking for a passionate and strategic leader to step into a Team Leader Workforce role that’s all about people, strategy and impact. This is a unique 16-month opportunity to share your expertise, ignite innovation and leave a lasting legacy, and in an organisation of our size, this could be just the beginning.

Responsibilities

  • Lead workforce management processes including rostering, payroll, return to work and recruitment.
  • Redesigning our organisational structure to support career growth, succession planning and strong quality practices at the centre level.
  • Implementing a new roster system.
  • Strengthening child-safe recruitment and onboarding.
  • Supporting the development of our Early Education Strategy.
  • Mentor Centre Directors, lead workforce planning and drive initiatives that improve the employee value proposition.
  • Maintain compliance with National Quality Standards (Quality Area 4 & 7).
  • Provide leadership in policy development and change management.

What You'll Bring

  • A degree in Early Education and/or Management/Business.
  • Substantial experience in leadership roles.
  • Substantial leadership experience in the Early Education & Care sector.
  • Deep knowledge of the National Quality Framework and relevant legislation.
  • Strong communication, organisational and analytical skills.
  • A collaborative spirit and a passion for empowering others.

Employment details and benefits

  • Package: $117,242 - $129,637 gross p.a. plus 12% superannuation and an award vehicle allowance of $10,780 gross p.a.
  • Hours of work: Temporary Full Time, 35 hours per week. Option of a 19-day month through the Council’s flex system. Position is expected to be available up to December 2026.
