We're looking for a senior product designer to join our experience design team on a 12-month contract. This role is about leading design on initiatives that genuinely improve how our members engage with their super—securely, confidently, and with clarity.

The Senior Product Designer position is part of the Experience Design team at Cbus. As a product designer at Cbus Super, you'll be designing experiences that directly impact the financial futures of over 900,000 members across Australia's building, construction, and allied industries. You'll be working for a profit-for-members fund where every design decision contributes to better retirement outcomes for hardworking Australians.

You'll join a fund that's investing in member-focused solutions. Our members work in physically demanding, often dangerous jobs - designing for them means creating solutions that are intuitive, accessible, and genuinely helpful during critical life moments.

You'll work with a team that is helping shape how an entire generation interacts with their retirement savings.

You'll be instrumental in driving design excellence across key initiatives, including:

• End-to-End Design Leadership: Leading the design on two key strategic initiatives, ensuring seamless and secure user experiences.
• UX Evaluation & Improvement: Conducting heuristic evaluations and UX audits of the new member portal.
• Design System Development: Collaborating on the creation of a scalable, accessible design system.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Working closely with your fellow designers and agile delivery teams.

You'll lead design across two major initiatives that are central to our member experience strategy. You'll shape journeys that are intuitive, secure, and built for trust.

Real UX influence

You'll conduct heuristic evaluations and UX audits of our new member portal, with the autonomy to drive meaningful improvements—not just surface tweaks.

Design system craftsmanship

You'll help build a scalable, accessible design system from the ground up. This is a chance to leave a legacy of design excellence that supports every team.

Design-led culture

You'll work alongside a tight-knit team of experience designers, product designers and agile delivery squads who value collaboration, curiosity, and craft. Design has a seat at the table here.

Who you are

You're a senior designer who is comfortable leading complex work, influencing stakeholders, and thinking in systems. You care about accessibility, clarity, and the human side of digital experiences. You will have a compelling portfolio that demonstrates user-centered design thinking, strategic problem-solving, and measurable impact across digital products.

Your proven experience in design systems, including building, maintaining, and evolving scalable systems that prioritize accessibility and consistency across platforms will be key to the success of this role.

You will also possess strong communication skills, with confidence in presenting design concepts, research insights, and UX recommendations to stakeholders at all levels—including product, delivery, and executive teams.
