Crime and Intelligence Legal Services is seeking experienced senior lawyers with a passion to make a difference to join our dedicated team. This continuous applicant pool will be used to fill current and future temporary vacancies, as they become available, for a period of 6 months with possibility of extension.
In this leadership position, you will work in a dynamic environment with interesting operational work and new powers. The role is rewarding, supporting the frontline enhance community safety. You will provide legal advice to investigators, senior officers and members of the Senior Executive in relation to complex aspects of investigations, policy and other operational law enforcement initiatives affecting the Queensland Police Service.
You will work in a collaborative team and receive mentoring and guidance. Each senior legal officer leads a small number of legal officers, supporting the principal legal officers and contributing to a positive and inclusive work environment. The range of duties recognises excellent communication, analytical and leadership skills that could be drawn from experience in a number of legal specialties and backgrounds.
Mandatory : Admission, or eligibility for immediate admission, as a barrister, solicitor or legal practitioner of the Supreme Court of Queensland.
Applicants must obtain and maintain a national security clearance. To be eligible for a national security clearance, an individual must be an Australian citizen and have a checkable background.
Qualification : Possession of a degree in law from a recognised tertiary institution, or equivalent qualifications.
Other : Applicants are advised that whilst performing the duties of the position they may be exposed to material (written, visual and audio) of a graphic and sensitive nature.
The successful applicant will be required to perform duty in locations as directed by Legal Division.
Driver's licence desirable
