Yarning sessions around the fire pit, the occasional taste of turtle, crocodile and sop‑sop, and the sounds of didjeridu are all on the cards for Pinangba’s Shalom Elders Village, which sits on Bindal and Wulgurukaba Country in Townsville.

With 28 beds catering to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, Shalom provides comfortable residential aged care in a culturally supportive environment, while building connections with First Nations groups in the Townsville community.

About The Role

As a Registered Nurse provide person‑centred care to your residents, ensuring a safe environment within the facility and applying your clinical skills to improving their quality of life through activities that include:

• Assess, plan and implement client care within your scope
• Consider physical, social and psychological requirements
• Create and update care plans to reflect developing needs
• Ensure clinical quality compliance standards are met
• Work collaboratively with other multi‑disciplinary team members

Role Requirements

• Excellent communication and clinical problem‑solving skills
• Confidence in managing your time effectively, including an ability to work autonomously
• General nursing experience, post‑registration
• NDIS Workers Screening Clearance or willingness to obtain
• Full, unrestricted AHPRA registration and unlimited work entitlements
• Confidence to satisfy the relevant probity checks required by legislation or policies
