• Salary relative to experience and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + super

Our Senior Data Scientist undertakes complex data analytics, interpreting the results of the analysis, providing specialist expert advice and insights to inform decision making and policy. The role is responsible for delivering data analytics projects and products and works closely with different business areas including policy teams, data engineers and data analysts.

What you will bring to the role

Provide technical leadership and collaborate to develop and implement technological solutions for extracting and analysing large and diverse data sets. Apply data science approaches and methods to deliver meaningful data products, insights and reporting solutions from existing datasets and identify appropriate alternative data sources to meet business requirements.

Work closely with the Manager Data & Analytics to develop and implement data analyses, data collection processes and other strategies that optimise data quality, interpreting data, and analysing results using statistical techniques to deliver deeper insights into existing datasets. Develop and maintain automated, end-to-end data pipelines to support reliable data ingestion, transformation and storage in line with data management best practices.

You will apply knowledge of the appropriate types of statistical and visualisation techniques that work best for different types of data, to ensure data products and visual presentations engage key stakeholders to assist in decision making.

Key knowledge and experience

• Technical expertise regarding data models, database design development, data mining and segmentation techniques.
• Experience in analysing large and multiple sets of data, trend analysis and methodologies.
• Tertiary qualifications in Data Science or relevant field or equivalent experience
