The Opportunity:

• Full‑Time 1.0 EFT | Fixed‑Term contract of employment until April 2027.
• PW4 $66,921 - $72,661 per annum pro rata + 12% super + leave loading (dependent on qualifications and experience).
• Chadstone Campus - onsite parking and convenient access to public transport.

The People Experience (PEX) department supports the Institute in achieving its strategic goals by strengthening workforce capability and capacity. PEX delivers a wide range of human resource services including strategic planning, workforce relations, talent acquisition, capability development, diversity and equity, health, safety and wellbeing, and employee engagement. The team is committed to delivering contemporary, professional, and high‑quality human resource services that enhance the experience of our staff and the broader Institute community.

In this role, you will provide high‑quality administrative and customer service support to the Health, Safety & Wellbeing (HSW) team, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries and ensuring a professional service to stakeholders. You will manage day‑to‑day HSW administration, including documentation, training records and compliance support, while assisting with health monitoring, WorkCover and Return to Work activities. The role also supports audits and health and wellbeing initiatives, contributing to a safe and well‑managed workplace.

As the HR Officer - Health Safety & Wellbeing, you will:

• Provide high‑quality administrative and customer service support to the HSW team, acting as the first point of contact for enquiries.
• Manage day‑to‑day HSW administration, including records management, training scheduling and compliance support.
• Assist with health monitoring processes, WorkCover and Return to Work activities, and associated record keeping.
• Support audits and health and wellbeing initiatives that contribute to a safe and compliant workplace.
• Deliver professional service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring timely and accurate information and assistance.

To be successful, you’ll have:

• Proven experience in senior‑level administrative roles supporting complex, multi‑disciplinary environments.
• An understanding of contemporary and emerging Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) and Return to Work (RTW) practices, with working knowledge of relevant legislation including Workers Compensation.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office applications, internet‑based tools, and database management software.
• A degree in business, business administration or similar discipline, or lesser qualifications with relevant work experience.
• Appointment to this position is subject to holding an employee Working with Children Check and a valid Police Check (issued within the last 12 months). A current driver’s licence is preferred.
