Base pay range

A$190,000.00/yr - A$205,000.00/yr

The Organisation

Our client, one of Australia’s largest property fund managers, is seeking an engaging and experienced property lawyer to join the in-house legal team in the Melbourne CBD office.

The Role

The role reports to a Managing Legal Counsel and involves working closely with other members of the legal team and partnering with stakeholders across all business functions and supporting core teams.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating general commercial and property agreements such as confidentiality agreements, consultancy agreements, minor works agreements and construction agreements
  • Assisting with leasing matters
  • Managing tenant disputes
  • Assisting teams on property acquisition, disposal and capital and/or co-investment opportunities and mandate matters as required
  • Updating precedent documents, conducting research, and providing training to the business

About you

This role would suit:

  • a proactive lawyer with transactional commercial property law experience
  • a minimum of 7 years’ PQE from a well-regarded law firm or similar in-house environment
  • Prior experience in high-value property acquisitions
  • Proficiency in managing leases ideally in the retail sector
  • ideally some knowledge of construction law (not essential)
