This is more than a Senior Infrastructure Engineer role. We’re looking for someone who’s going to take on our ethos and help shape the future of our industry. As the Senior engineer within our Managed Services team , you’ll help reduce response times for incidents and service requests, improve coverage during peak periods, and ensure timely execution of infrastructure changes. Additionally, the role will enhance coordination between teams, streamline escalation processes, and reduce the reliance on limited existing resources for critical onsite activities

MORE THAN A ROLE

Our role descriptions aren’t the norm. As the Senior engineer within our Managed Services team , you’ll contribute through hands‑on engineering work while mentoring and coaching less experienced team members. Some of your key responsibilities listed below:

• Play a key role in mentoring and developing junior engineers in the team
• Assign , oversee ,review and provide constructive feedback on junior engineer incident investigations and documentation
• Guide junior engineers through escalation procedures, change management, and customer communication best practices
• Conduct knowledge transfer sessions: infrastructure components, troubleshooting procedures, vendor support processes
• Identify skill gaps and recommend training or certification paths for junior engineers
• Lead peer learning sessions or lunch-and-learn activities on infrastructure topics, support formal training delivery: facilitate labs, review assignments, mentor through certifications
• Infrastructure Monitoring & Maintenance
• Monitor, analyse, and manage infrastructure services delivered to customers
• Coordinate and execute patching cycles (Windows, Linux, firmware, hypervisors
• Escalate capacity constraints and aging infrastructure concerns to customers
• Maintain vendor support contracts and SLA compliance documentation
• Resolve infrastructure‑related incidents within agreed SLAs
• Conduct post‑incident reviews to identify systemic improvements and prevent recurrence
• Identify recurring infrastructure issues and patterns from incident data
• Design and implement permanent solutions to eliminate problem sources
• Process improvement: evaluate tools, hardware, and software used in managed services operations
• Coordinate infrastructure changes with customers and stakeholders
• Ensure all changes comply with ETHAN Change Management Guidelines
• Execute planned changes during approved maintenance windows
• Coordinate outages to minimise customer impact

THE ABSOLUTES-MUSTS

• Demonstrable experience within Managed Services Provider (MSP) or Systems Integrator (SI) at 2nd/3rd Level Support capacity
• Microsoft Windows Server Management: 2016, 2019, 2022 administration and hardening
• VMware Data Centre Virtualisation: vSphere/vCenter operations and troubleshooting
• Linux Administration: RHEL/Ubuntu system administration and support
• Demonstrated experience managing mission‑critical infrastructure for multiple customers

DESIRABLES

• Kubernetes/Tanzu operations and troubleshooting
• Cisco UCS: Mid-to-large data centre environment administration or similar hyperconverged platform
• Pure Storage: Storage system operations and troubleshooting or similar storage platform

CERTS AND SKILLS

• Advanced Microsoft Windows Server Management (MCSE or equivalent)
