About the role

We are seeking an IDAM/GRC Consultant to support a major government client on a high-visibility security and compliance initiative. This is a contract role with a preferred location in Ballarat, though candidates based in Melbourne, Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, or Perth will also be considered.

The role requires full-time on-site presence (5 days/week). Key responsibilities include:

• Evaluating current Identity and Access Management (IDAM) and Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) practices
• Identifying gaps and recommending improvements aligned with industry standards and regulatory requirements
• Implementing IDAM frameworks to ensure secure and appropriate access to resources
• Deploying GRC frameworks to manage risk and ensure compliance across systems
• Working closely with stakeholders to align security practices with business objectives

The successful candidate

To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

• Australian citizenship and an active AGSVA Baseline Clearance (NV1 preferred or eligibility to obtain)
• 1–2 years of experience in a consulting or similar role focused on IDAM/GRC security
• Strong knowledge of SAP HANA system architecture, database security, and user authorization
• Experience with SAP GRC Access Controls modules (ARM, BRM, EAM, ARA)
• Familiarity with SAP IdM and general administration within the IdM toolset
• Certification in SAP HANA or related fields (desirable)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP Cloud Platform (desirable)
• Understanding of threat modeling, secure coding practices, and security testing tools
• Passionate, detail-oriented, and proactive with excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
