About The Role
We are looking for a fixed plant Mechanical Engineer within the Northern Operations Fixed Plant Maintenance and Shutdowns team. This role will be tasked with extracting maximum value from the site fixed plant assets through the delivery of engineering support, supporting failure analysis, improvement projects, and DE execution of asset performance improvement projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Management of asset performance reporting metrics
- Utilising data and mechanical principles to identify asset performance improvement initiatives
- End‑to‑end project management from concept to implementation of identified improvement initiatives
- Developing and implementing maintenance strategies to improve asset reliability and reduce downtime
- Governance including standards review and update
- Involvement in mechanical inspection and report review and providing recommendations
- Leading a team of contractors executing maintenance works during shutdowns
- Conducting root cause analysis and delivering solutions for mechanical failures
- Collaborating with operations and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvements
- Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental and operational standards
About You
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Demonstrated experience in engineering support for mechanical equipment
- Demonstrated experience leading mechanical asset performance improvement projects in a heavy industrial/mining environment
- Demonstrated experience in material handling equipment
- Strong understanding of Australian Standards and other relevant standards
- Effective written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of defect elimination and reliability engineering principles
- Project management and execution experience
- Intermediate skill in SolidWorks/MicroStation/AutoCAD
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Experience working within a mineral processing plant maintenance environment
- Working knowledge of business improvement tools (e.g., 6 Sigma, process improvement, CMMS, and change management methodologies)
- CPEng and RPEQ certifications
